WASHINGTON, DC — Senator James Lankford (R-OK) appeared on NewsNation with Leland Vittert to discuss President Trump’s first 100 days, drawing praise from the presidentLankford joined the network shortly after President Trump’s townhall with Chris Cuomo last night.

Excerpts:

On Trade Talks and Results: “Let’s get the first two fish in the boat… This only started about three weeks ago. It was April 2nd — Liberation Day — when the President said, ‘We’re doing it right.’ And it’s taken off since then.”

On Oklahoma Farmers and Ranchers: “They’re not panicked. They want new markets. We buy Australian beef, but Australia won’t take ours? That makes no sense. Vietnam, Korea, Japan these are trading partners and allies. These markets should be open.”

On President Trump’s first 100 days: “I don’t think anyone was surprised when he answered, ‘I can’t think of a mistake.’ He’s high-risk, high-reward. He’s taken a lot of risks in his business career and been very, very successful. I think he’s focused on making sure it works — and working until it does…he’s going to get wins. Netanyahu showed up and said, ‘How about zero?’ on tariffs. Vietnam sent a delegation in 48 hours. These are big signals…trade deals aren’t like buying a car. They take years. This administration is trying to do them in months.”

At today’s National Day of Prayer event at the White House, Trump publicly thanked Lankford for his bold defense. You can watch HERE.
