As New School Year Begins, Chairs of Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism Call on Universities to Protect Jewish Students
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — US Senators James Lankford (R-OK) and Jacky Rosen (D-NV), co-chairs of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, released the following statement urging universities to take action to ensure the safety and security of Jewish students on campus as the new school year begins:
“As co-chairs of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, we are alarmed by the continued rise of antisemitic incidents on America’s college campuses. No student should be forced to hide their identity out of fear. Universities must take responsibility by enforcing conduct codes, addressing harassment that increasingly occurs online, ensuring transparency and accountability in discrimination cases, and rejecting campaigns to boycott or exclude Jewish students. As this new school year begins, the United States Senate stands united across party lines in making clear that antisemitism has no place in higher education and every student deserves to learn in safety and without fear.”
