Lankford Issues Statement on Supreme Court Decision on Detention and Deportation of Illegal Immigrants

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today issued a statement following the Supreme Court decision on United States v. Texas:

“The chaos the Biden Administration has caused at the border by emboldening the cartels to promote human trafficking and drug trafficking has turned every state into a border state. If the Supreme Court says that states cannot defend themselves, then the federal government should do its job and defend America. I will continue to sound the alarm and push back on this Administration until they enforce the law. The asylum process is broken, which Secretary Mayorkas has admitted to me. Biden’s policy allows people from all over the world, including Pakistan, Russia, and China to enter the country with no background checks and no knowledge of where they go after they are released into the US. They’re fudging the numbers; they’re fudging the laws; and they’re deciding when they want to enforce those laws. This is a national security crisis, and we can’t continue a system of ‘enforcement priorities’ that allows thousands of people to illegally cross the border.”
