Senator Lankford Applauds Gina Haspel’s Confirmation as CIA Director

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today released the following statement after voting for Gina Haspel to be the next CIA Director: 

“Gina Haspel is the right person to be the director of the CIA with more than three decades of nonpartisan CIA experience during the administrations of the last five Presidents. She has the support of six former CIA Directors serving under both Republican and Democratic administrations. During my open and classified meetings, it was evident that she knows the agency and the serious threats that we face very well. I’m glad she has finally been confirmed to this important intelligence position.”
