WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today introduced Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Patrick Wyrick during his Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing to be United States District Court judge for the Western District of Oklahoma. Wyrick was nominated for this position in April.

Excerpts:

Senator Lankford: (1:02-1:27) He is a native of Atoka, Oklahoma. Does anyone else know where Atoka is other than Patrick and I here in the room today? He’s a small town guy. He grew up in a great situation there. He and his wife Jamie have three children, Cole, Carter, and Claire. He is a very capable attorney and judge. He will continue to serve Oklahoma and the nation well as a Federal District Court Judge for the Western District of Oklahoma. Senator Inhofe and I both highly recommend to this spot.

Justice Wyrick: (2:58-3:14) I’d also like to thank my colleagues on the Oklahoma Supreme Court. I came on the Court, I’m in my second year on the Court. They have been incredibly collegial and supportive. They’ve written you letters in support of my nomination based on their experiences with me as a Judge. I certainly appreciate them for that.
